Creating Third Spaces Through Art, Culture & Community in Centretown Ottawa

At Third Place, our mission is rooted in the idea of "third spaces"— social settings that exist beyond home (first place) and work (second place).

In a time when authentic gathering spaces are becoming rare, we’re aim to change that by creating environments where people can connect, create, and build community.

We do this through a wide variety of events—both inside our downtown Ottawa studio location and outside in public urban spaces across Centretown and beyond.

Summer Outdoor Events on Bank Street & Beyond

In collaboration with Centretown BIA, we helped activate a new outdoor public space known as Uncommon. Both the pink location on Bank & Florence Street, and the courtyard location between Laurier & Slater Street. These outdoor spaces are filled with almost-daily events all summer long. Expect thrift markets, DIY jewelry and tote bag workshops, comedy nights, mixology events, and more—all open-air and community-driven.

Winter Indoor Events at Our Studio

When colder months arrive, we move inside to our brick-walled studio space in Centretown. We curate intimate and inspiring art galleries, workshops, maker and thrift markets, and other events that bring people together in creative ways.

Whether it’s indoors or outdoors, everything we do is about building real-life community through shared experiences. Third Place isn’t just a venue—it’s a movement to restore spaces where people can truly gather.
